cloth house

the september issue of world of interiors had a story on the london fabric store cloth house. i have many dream jobs, and owning a fabric store like this is definitely one of them! the store is owned by jay harley, and his clients range from designers like dries van noten to art school students. this is his second store, and it's limited to natural fibers (cottons and linens) and includes printed fabrics from around the world. it looks incredible...

hi lena! these photos do make it looks so inviting. not just visually but for some reason, is it the organic nature of the fabric itself or the wooden floors, but there is a great warmth to the place. I also almost feel I can smell it! how cool would a visit be? thanks for posting.

hi lena! i love these images - i think a part of why is that there is such warmth there - the fabrics, the wood, the light - also i have a sense of the quiet in there before the work starts. thanks for posting! how cool would a visit be?

hi barbara
i agree! the store looks as beautiful as the fabric. in the article, the owner talks about how he organizes the fabric and chooses the furniture to display them on... very thoughtful.
